OPENING CREDITS… FOR A BOOK?

Paying homage to the classic Bond films of the ’60s— with a special tip of the steel-rimmed hat to Goldfinger— I teamed up with a powerhouse of magical musicians to create credits for Doom’s Daze. Here they are: the sights and sounds of our heroes’ Utmost Secret visit to a bleak and menacing hidden land.

Get those headphones on… or crank those speakers… and get ready!

Wasn’t that fun? I hope it puts you in the mood for mystery, action, humor and more!

So where did I get the idea to do this? Well, there’s a poem on the opening pages of Doom’s Daze, and Agent Malfred No-Middle-Name Murd is supposed to have written it when he was a mere youth of sixteen. Clearly his talent was luminous even then. Or was it all just highflown teen-angst drivel? Probably both. But there’s something else you ought to know:

As far as I can tell, this is the first time a book has had not just a sales trailer, but an opening title sequence. Which means you’ve just seen something very, very special. Will I have to kill you? Oh no, my friend. I expect you to talk…
